Autism doesn’t have to be a debilitating condition. Perhaps the best-known example is Dr. Temple Grandin, a highly accomplished autistic professor of animal science at Colorado State University and developer of livestock handling facilities.

Her new book, “Animals Make Us Human: Creating the Best Life for Animals,” explores how animals and humans can best interact to create happier lives for all of us. Dr. Grandin believes her autism has given her the unique ability to understand what animals are thinking and feeling. Indeed, animals share the same emotions as people.

That connection has enabled her create highly effective and more pleasant livestock facilities. Half of North America’s cattle are handled using facilities designed by Dr. Grandin.

She’s also a prominent author and speaker on the subject of autism. Dr. Grandin’s current bestseller is “The Way I See It,” which explores her world with autism, how autistics think, the real issues autistics face, advice for teaching autistics, and more.

We’d love to talk to Dr. Grandin to learn more, and are trying to get in touch with her for a podcast. We’ll keep you updated!
